Lending Institutions that have links to Government,by way of funding, have often fallen victims and failed to stand the test of political interference. Small Holder Agricultural Credit Administration( SACA) under the Ministry of Agriculture met similar challenges before the Government set up the Malawi Rural Finance Company(MRfC),in 1994, with funding from World Bank. MRFC, though a Government Company, was independent and had to withstand any form of political interference.
