Conflicting reports on Mzava‘s Monaco deal

The dream of playing in the French top league for Malawi international defender Limbikani Mzava is reported to be shuttered as the club has revealed that they will not sign him as a defender.

According to media reports, Monaco says Mzava is “pint-sized”and cannot fit the position the club is looking forward to fit which is the central defence.

However, Monaco officials have described Mzava as a great player who is talented.

Other reports indicate that Monaco is considering switching the Flames international right back into the central midfield position.

But Mzava’s representatives Complete Footballer confirmed to Kickoff Magazine on Thursday that Mzava is returning from Monaco following the completion of his trial period.

“The boy is coming back tomorrow morning to join his national team for a tour of China,” says Claudio Bollo.

“The report from the club is very positive; they like him a lot and felt he is a very good defender with a lot of potential but they feel that he is not tall enough for the size of a central defender they are looking for.” Claudio Bollo added.

Mzava some months ago missed another opportunity of signing with an Israelian club Hapoel Tel Aviv as the deal flopped following disagreements on conditions to sign the player from his current club South African Premier League side Bloemfontein Celtic.
