Nyasa Times understands that Chilumba Barracks who are the current league leaders with 99 points two ahead of second place Mzuni F.C and are the favourites to earn top flight TNM Super League promotion were planning to write the countrys soccer governing body Football Association Malawi (FAM) expressing their grievances as we went to press.

Chilumba Barracks is against the decision by the NRFAL Committee in setting a replay of a game involving Mzuni F.C and Kapolo F.C which according to NRFAL ended prematurely.

Major Basikolo of Chilumba said this is against the rules and regulations of the game of football.

“To say the truth, the game is not supposed to be replayed. The said game was played a long time ago and cannot be played now,” he said.

“According to the laws of the game, if anyone has a complaint, this is supposed to be done within a period of 48 hours and we are pleading with the association to make sure that the rules and regulations be applied” he added.

Northern Region Football League Association General Secretary Alfred Gunda could not produce tangible reasons on what caused the abandonment of the game.

“The game is supposed to be replayed because it ended prematurely since it started very late” said Gunda.

Meanwhile, the game is expected to be played this coming Wednesday 25th February, 2015.

Surestream Academy was the first team to earn Super League promotion representing the Southern Region while Dedza Young soccer became the second over the weekend and will represent the central region.

Still, Federation is the only answer. Then we can have our good sons who are at FAM come home and help run things.
