CTS Group of Companies has opened CTS Auto Parts in Lilongwe, in a move the firm says marks its latest step in broadening its contribution to Malawi’s economy.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on Sunday, guest of honour Kondwani Kachamba, Executive Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMEDI), said the venture supports economic recovery efforts and would help generate much-needed foreign currency.

Kachamba praised CTS founder Jacqueline Bokosi for growing the business from a courier services provider into a diversified group, saying it showed the potential of local firms to expand and contribute to national development.

CTS General Manager Joseph Manda said the new outlet would make vehicle spare parts more accessible and affordable to Malawians, adding that the company plans to expand beyond Lilongwe.

“This is just the beginning. We have plans underway to expand operations to Mzuzu, Blantyre and Zomba in the near future,” Manda said.

The opening adds to CTS Group’s expanding portfolio in Malawi and is expected to create further business and employment opportunities as the company continues to diversify.
