Dan Lu hits back at manager, ‘My Sweet Banana show is on’

Dan Lu disclosed he has obtained a court injunction to stop Chris of Sisqo Productions from preventing the show slated for Lilongwe Golf Club on November 6th from happening.

The Shupie star revealed in an interview with Capital FM that the music record label failed to organize the show despite claims by Chris that the artist has been bypassing the label in his decisions.

“They told me they don’t have money to do it, and if I can mange, they will be more than happy. He has been talking a lot and I guess now it’s my chance to speak,” said Dan Lu.

He insisted that Chris is still his manager but argued that one year since he signed to the label they have no organized a single for him locally, adding it was fractious relationship between Sisqo Productions management and Kcee’s team that has worsened their relationship.

“They once had a fight with Kcee and his manager the time we were in Nigeria recording Sweet Banana. This is why they have been refusing to organize this show because they are no longer in talking terms. They advised if I can, I should proceed arranging for the show, and I did.”

Recently, South African-based manager, Sisqo Chris obtained an injunction stopping the “Sweet Banana” launch aside from further stopping the artist from any other show or his music related issues as he is intellectually bound to Sisqo Productions.

The Sweet Banana launch is expected to feature Nigerian Limpopo star Kcee, Dan Lu, Stich Fray, Piksy, Sir Patricks, Pon G, and Organized Family as well Rockers band.

There is need for local artists to first get legal counsel on contracts they would want to have with music companies before signing. We are not sure of who is saying the truth up until we have access to the contract. Its unfortunate that the label is not able to organize shows for one of Malawi’s talented musician. Review the contractual agreement and consult if it can be terminated.

Dan Lu out of all people you decide to be managed by Nigerians! Oh gosh! Most of these guys are crooked. You will learn a very bitter lesson.

Find qualified Malawians to manage you. If you don’t want a Malawian go for someone from Europe or within Sadc region.
