Ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) says some leaders are a stumbling block to those who want to join the party ahead of the 2019 elections.
Party secretary general Grazider Jefrey wa Jeffrey has since asked party leaders to leave the party door open for political defectors.
She was speaking in Kasungu on Sunday when the party held a rally.
“We can only win if we have as many defectors as possible. Winning an election is a matter of numbers,” she said.
Jefrey said she is aware that some party leaders do not want defectors for some reasons best known to them.
The DPP is on a campaign to rebuild the party whose government is facing image problems because of the government failure to fix the economy, corruption and theft of public money.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
