This is a family issue and it means the allowed Chakwera to go there and lay a wreath. In a Chewa culture one cannot go to a cemetery without permission unless it’s in HHI or Area 18. There must have been permission from the family and village headsman. I really don’t know how Jimmy Kainja comes in here. He has issues with Kamuzu. There must always be closure to such issues. Why should Chakwera ignore the families of the victims? Enanu munapangapo chiyani?
The responses by the pro Chakwera MCP diehards on this page is exactly why you dont win presidential elections. Once you humble yourselves and accept MCPs atrocities you might have a chance. As for Chakwera’s actions, he has lost votes today.

By his action in defiance of the late Gadama’s family wishes and the law (Court injunction), and the very fact that Chakwera’s Party was responsible for Gadama’s murder, laying the wreath by Chakwera is a form of desecration of the grave. Tradition requires a cleansing, and possible reburial.
This action might have lost you some votes.

Stupid court Injunction. Chakwera Gadama, Chiwanga, Sangala and Matenje when the brutal murders were committed. In fact Chakwera has publicly apologized on several occasions for the wrongs committed by MCP during the Ntaba/Dausi era. The Question should be: for how will this hatred continue?
How do you forcefully conduct a political ceremony on someone’s grave after the family told you not to? Especially when your party killed the deceased?
