This is very stupid on the part of ESCOM and Budget and Finance committee. Know that this is in the interest of all Malawians not for your failures. The media were supposed to allowed in the meeting. Don’t take Malawians for a ride. We need to know what is happening with our taxes.

Malawians sazatheka, the problem is we choose leaders based on tribe and region and not on who can deliver. As I write , some are busy supporting certain politicians simply because they are home mates even when they have nothing to offer. We will continue to be making noise without anything to write home about until we change how we elect these leaders.

This project like so many other projects was just a means of syphoning money from government coffers. They used the blackouts as a means of justifying the generator programme but in actual fact they wanted to steal money from government.

Koma a Malawi chonde tiphunzile kumvesa problem and work out the best solutions.
What is the total capacity that this country needs?
How much is being delivered by EGENCO?
How much power are the generators producing?
What is the power deficit?
Why then are we still having Blackouts? is it the problem of Gensets or EGENCO is failing to generate its part?
Generators didnt come to replace the whole power generation instead to supplement the shortfall.
From my observation we are surviving on gensets than EGENCO.

If there are still FAIR thinking Malawians out there still BELIEVING that this DPP government will deliver on it’s promises, they should be day-dreamers (for lack of a better word). Their MANIFESTO tells it all.
Unless one belongs to the club of these MBAVA, a BLINDLY royal tribesman or a BENEFICIARY of the ROT & LOOT, there’s no GENUINE HOPE for things getting better with this DPP government.
SHAME on MBAVA!!!

Things that happen when you are lead by pple who can not see beyond their nose. I once commented.. The challenge is that we have entrusted more power to politicians to an extent that experts are useless in decisio making.

Hope mr Perks Ligota has read this.. Why lying to the whole country and why milking the already dying cow in the name of financing maintainance/management of these so called gensets? Where are those who were singing praise on the arrive of these electric mills? How are they feeling right now? Did Malawians not said about this move kuti siyithandiza? Were you not called them haters of development? Is this the development you talked about? The big cadet Santana, where are you? Can we say the NGOs are still liers? Please mimbulu ndizilombo inu tamamvaniko chisoni

In fact the whole plan to buy back-up gen-set was a ploy to steal. CORRUPT to the CORE.
And if parliamentary committee is to look into the details of transactions of the whole SCHEME they certainly discover a lot of under-dealings. UCROOK MA ZIGOGO ndithu!!!
That’s DPP THIEVES for you, they will STOP at NOTHING to LOOT for their INSATIABLE APPETITE!
SHAME on MBAVA!!!

I wonder why some people are so myopic in their thinking. Bushiri is very rich, yes but that does not make him a good leader. Riches and leadership are too different things. The fact that he has a huge following in his organisation is not a quantifying factor. He can never make it in political circles. Let him concentrate in his business empire and swindling the lazy unsuspecting flocks who follow him because they want easy riches.

Malawians voiced against this idea of hiring or purchase of gen sets sitting many reasons e.g. expenses on diesel, a questionable procurement procedure ,etc Lero ndimmene mwaona kuti it was a goof. You have been goofing for many times . cheating Malawians, saying electricity problems will be over in November, then changed to December after the gen sets are installed. Kenako iyayi, by January 2018. Pano mukuti after interconnector with Zambia. Kuzambiakonso magetsi akumazimazima. You raised tariffs just to rip off Malawians. Its like raising fees for a rented house saying, you want to renovate the house. You renovate the… Read more »
