thats the way to go. but a malawi let us now start to plant trees in our homes rivers and mountains otherwise i prophysise that our children will not get power from our shire nkula and tezani falls. the shire might dryout in the near future and all the investments will be in limbo. i understand that the main problem is that shire is unable to provide enough water to drivethe turbines as aresult it is only able to produce small amount of energy. if water was enough these machines would pproduce more than what is currently producing. let us… Read more »

This can’t be bravo, in fact ndizochititsa manyazi to tap electricity from Zambia, magetsi opangira madzi, omwe ife madzi wo even more than zambia. Why simplifying it like it is ordianary tapping —this is importing …that is alot of money. If this money was spent to generate our own using our water bodies – that could be a sustainable solution. Our zidzukulu instead of enjoying our invesiments they will be busy laying foundation of development for ana awo. At the pace, this country is going, the next 50 years, it will look the same.

Now ESCOM, you are talking sense. Thats the best way to go. The 220kV Feeder for Malawi has already been installed at Matambo Substation, Moatize near TETE. Once the connection has been done INTO Malawi Grid, our blackouts will be the thing of the past. If South Africa purchases Power from Mozambique, what more with Malawi, the biggest neighbour to Mozambique? Wishing them a successful deal.

It is a good idea to tap electricity from our neighbouring countries,to combat the issue of blackouts which has made investers run away from our country,it is also a time for malawians to reflect on this issue where did we go wrong? Was it the kind of leadership that is puting us into this mess? It will drain alot of money and it requires the experts to do this job to avoid bleaching of the contract that two countrires accorded.
