Barely hours after fire incident escom comes up with a conclusion that its not their fault that caused the fire. What comment has escom brought forward on ministry of agriculture incident? Are they still investigating?
ESCOM, ESCOM, ESCOM. They deny everything, give justification for the unjustifiable. When water levels were low they used to give us too many blackouts in the name of power rationing due to insufficient power and this due to low water levels. Now water levels have improved significantly and I saw this recently when I visited Mangochi. But in my residential area, Area 18 in Lilongwe, we experienced uninterrupted power for some weeks but now the long black outs are back with a vengeance. What is the cause this time? The nation of politically motivated fires:
1. Zodiak vehicle torched;
2. Ministry of Agriculture torched (Not the recent one);
3. Electoral commission warehouse torched;
4. Markets torched;
5. Chaponda’s office torched;
6. Judge Mkandawire’s residence torched.
These fires occur when something is not going on right with politics. I smell a rat. Only time will tell who is behind these fires.

ESCOM cannot just route this out. It’s happening too many times, especially after works on a transformer. I had my house equipment and fuses blown after a similar incident but ESCOM denied responsibility. Where is your Customer Charter?
