Pakatipa anthu amakumba ndi kusefa gold ku Nathenje, Chiwamba ndi Makanjira instead of helping them, the government decided to send the Police and threaten to lock them up. What is the government saying to the locals? I would have thought, the government should have encouraged these locals to from cooperatives, provide training and expertise on the best way to mine alluvial gold, establish markets and allow these people to become involved in the official business sector.
