someone is just trying to source money for his campaign, thee laws are useless , these Vannette buses have never been involved in any major accidents

Like I said last time, no modern city operates minibuses on its streets. It is either public buses or metro system using commuter trains or trams. The country has to change ways of doing things. We are not in Bangladesh or some other backward country. We might not have the cash to make us one of the richest countries in the world, but we have the people who are ambitious and understand modern and western way of life. These new laws are simply a blank cheque to our rotten traffic cops. No one will go jail just picnic time for police officers. Sort out how you monitor law enforcement other wise convictions will be zero and people will be dying on our roads

Where is Malawi Railways ( or whatever they are called these days)? Is this not an opportunity for them to introduce commuter services in Blantyre and Lilongwe, particularly at peak periods?

I would love to hear suggestions on the best way forward from those criticising the new regulations. Some people are just blubber mouths yet they have no solutions. Critics are not necessarily good authors. The police are only there to ensure the laws are complied with. Police don’t make rules. The fact that you find the odd corrupt policeman means all the rules must be thrown out if the window is hogwash. Arrest the offenders . Continued disregard of the law by the same drivers and conductor must result in heavy penalties or even banning or fining the transporter. What… Read more »
