My only worry is that do we have coal at Kammwamba or sorrounding areas? Or we are going to purchase from another country? If so why was the project not installed within Malawi and where we have lots of coal deposits? I stand to be corrected

Kamwamba ll be the biggest investment ever made in Mlw , almost $1bn investment, it’s not a small amount for Malawi and if china gives this loan we must be thankful to them. Malawians , please learn to appreciate. Give respect where it’s due , no country in the world can give concessonary loan to a poor country like Malawi even after knowing the credit ratings is down.

1 billion dollar loan saddled on you and me. Only to produce how many megawatts, and how much pollution? There, you have your govt on the forefront advocating unclean energy, when we can do hydro, wind and solar perhaps at much less cost. Thank the Chinese for their investment, but is a good investment for Malawi, when everyone is walking away from coal.

The Chinese are not good investors. They torture Malawians whenever they are working. They don’t comply with the Health, Safety and Welfare Act of 1997. They don’t comply with the Employment Act of. 2000. MCA is struggling with these people in their projects. Chint as contractors of MCA pay Malawians peanuts and work them as slaves. This government of dpp is desperate to keep the old bulls in power. Stupid government that hates the truth. Pitani bwino bola osamakskwera a wheelchair kumeneko.

THIS TRIP SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN LONG TIME AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT AM NOT SURPRISED AT ALL. WHEN YOU HAVE NKHALAMBA IN THESE POSITIONS, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. THEY WAIT UNTIL THINGS GET OUT OF HAND BEFORE THEY ACT. REMENBER THE ACADEMIC FREEDOM SAGA!

Really, why should Malawians suffer in “blackouts” just because of a few gluttons. Why turn the whole nation into begging. It is a must, Malawi needs reliable source of energy to run the economy. Whether it means complete overhaul of leadership, what we need is complete change of doing things, tired of laissez-faire leadership and “business as usual”.
