“This is an agent of the devil who needs to be beaten so can learns a lesson,” said Janet Phiri who resides in area 18.

But some condemned the attack.

“Am totally disappointed with the conduct of fellow Christians here for beating the man, how can the world differentiate between the circular and gospel shows?,” wondered a patron who refused to be named.

Moses had his clothes torn, shoes taken and his belongings like ATM cards, driving licence taken by some musicians.

Among those who witnessed the beating include Peter Mlangeni, Marvellous Deeds members and Peter Sambo.

There was no immediate comment from pastor Charles Chayang’ana who hosted the gathering.
