The Law Commission was so stupid to say the age limit for President was political while at the same time it allowed the minimum age. Where is the wisdom here? Are both scenarios not political? This explains why we need foreign consultants to do the job that we can do ourselves. This simply demonstrates lack of seriousness on the part of the Law Commission.

Whether the constitution is amended or not, Malawians will vote based on who the best party torch bearer is. Malawians have already figured it out that the old, senile, unethical, immoral leaders aren’t good for the their country so they will vote for parties whose torch bearers are; young, agile, visionary, ethical, moral and full of energy with new ideas to lift their country put of the mess created in the last 54 years (by the old generation).

If APM has failed and will lose why all this noise? You know he’s a force to be reckoned with that is why you’re trying to introduce things like age limit.

Read Ecclesiastes 10 verse 16.
You will realise why we need older people as leaders. APM you are not alone

But Peter Mutharika is resigning. He hasn’t got enough energy and isn’t as agile anymore; though he has some semblance of wisdom. Sorry Wapaphata to break the news to you albeit gently.

This is why Malawi will always be backward Chikoti. You are not progressive in your thinking. No one is arguing about the wisdom of keeping the aged within the party. What people are suggesting is that, the executive of the party be led by those that have the energy, agility, physical strength to take important trips abroad, be able to connect with ordinary people, on a daily basis, by walking the streets. No old men can do these things. However, people also recognise the need for marrying these traits in a leader with the wisdom of the old people/generation to… Read more »
