Guard of honour! Kind-hearted shoppers rally round to shower devoted security guard

A devoted security guard has been left stunned after generous shoppers clubbed together to hand him a whopping K6 million  cash windfall — complete with a shiny new motorbike.

Redson Mtsilo, who guards Game Complex in Lilongwe for security firm G4S, was showered with the cash gift from 423 kind-hearted members of the public who wanted to say thanks for his years of dedicated service.

And in a touch that’ll melt hearts, the surprise bash was thrown on the big-hearted guard’s 49th birthday!

The heartwarming gesture was the brainchild of local photographer Lameck Luhanga, of Moving Minds Multimedia, who launched the Tabwera Appreciation Initiative to give Mtsilo the recognition he deserves.

Big-name firms with shops at the complex — including G4S, Eris Properties MW Limited and Icon Properties Plc — chipped in to make the special day even bigger.

And it’s not just cash in the bank for the beloved guard — Mtsilo is set to zoom off into the sunset on a brand spanking new motorbike, bought using some of the whip-round cash.

Talk about a birthday to remember!
