Illuminate the Christ light in you

Light conquers darkness. When light shows up, darkness flees. The same is true with you in this world. Jesus Christ said that ‘you are the light of the world …’ The same words were echoed by Martin Luther King Jr that ‘darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that…’christ

Pope Francis of recently said, ‘from my point of view, God is the light that illuminates the darkness, even if it does not dissolve it, and a spark of divine light is within each of us.’

Light significantly conquers darkness. When light shows up, darkness is forced to flee. The same is true in the spiritual realm. Scripture tells us that, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path,”Psalm 119:105. This is the same with the true Christians in our daily lives because we are a reflector of the Light which comes from Christ.

Jesus said that believers are “The Light of the world”. Not only should our presence put darkness to flight, it should also cause the world and our surroundings to be beautiful and better places to be. In Matthew5:15 Jesus himself said that, “Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all who are in the house” which is the purpose of light. As His light shines through us, People around us who are in darkness will be able to see the light in us and be blessed which will cause them to desire the same. The bible tells us that; “When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions…”

II Chronicles 9:1.  The glory of the lord having now risen upon Israel, the kings of the Gentiles come to that light bringing their riches with them, and find there a glory and wisdom such as the world has never seen.

“Let your light so shine before men that they may see good works,”   Matthew 5:16When lost people see the light of Jesus shining through the lives of true Christians, they will take notice. It is good to remember that Jesus did not come for those who are saved already, but those who are lost that they may see His light.

Sometimes believers hide the light by conforming to the patterns of this world in actions and idle conversations not in line with the teachings of Jesus.  Failure to share the Good news with friends and family is another example. Believers are supposed to sow seeds of love and caring those in need as good Samaritans.

If we all came to the knowledge of the Truth that light that transform lives must shine to reflect, reveal, guide, comfort, cheer, and dispel darkness, our communities would never be the same.

Let these two scriptures below help to understand that light and darkness have no fellowship;

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light,” Ephesians 5:8.

“…And what communion has light with darkness?” II Corinthians 6:14.

It is my prayer now that for those that have not yet seen this Light, to find this light which can only come after accepting Jesus Christ Who is the light of the world. Anyone that follows Him, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life for He is the Light of the world. To those who are true believers, the invitation is to let your light shine.

Well said. Amen. Let God be Judge.
And for you who comment: If you are clever, be so by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Do not show people how knowledgeable you are about God, for a day will come when your ‘show off’, so called ‘knowledge’ vanish with pain beyond your imagination. It’s only Christ who knows all.
