To begin with the police and the immigration department should have operations where they do checks on people resident in the town ships and other residential areas. this will help in identifying those who are not Malawians and are staying in the country illegally. Alternatively, do random stop and search campaigns on our roads. I know Malawians will complain saying akutichedwetsa pamiseu doing the stop and search campaigns . This is done in many countries in the SADC region. That is how the illegal immigrants in South Africa are found and then deported.

Spot on Henry. Malawi borders are very porous yet there is no political will to address the issue. The people we entrusted to take care of our issues seem that they do not care. I hope this topic becomes central to those running for presidency in next year elections. Nevertheless, it is up to the immigration dpt and the police to do their properly even with little resources. We will wake up one day to find that Malawians have no land in their own country.
