Nabetha,these immigration staff are purely thevies,I encountered the same scenario one of the stuff asked me to send 300USD in order to process a new passport for my daughter,after sending the money nothing was done for close to 2months and the officer was just telling stories,i later asked a relative to crosscheck at Immigration and it was discovered that the guy only sent MK50,000 and staff at immigration in Blantyre were not interested to touch and handle the passport, i later decided to pay extra 30,000 to be distributed to the staff and the passport was produced same day and… Read more »

Funso ndi ili. Kodi are these services free or is the K1000 being charged going into Immigration Revenue? Problem is that akumangokutenga, kukujambula then tell you later kuti it will cost you K1000. How about putting up this fee among the schedule of fees for passports so that it is transparent and clear to all?

I’m a Malawian living in South Africa. I applied for a replacement passport last year in March through the Malawi Consulate office, unfortunately, until today the new passport has not been issued. I made countless phone calls to the Malawi Consulate office and it was so sad that the Immigration Officer there, Mr. Makumba kept on telling me lies that the passport has been issued but awaiting to be dispatched.
