Mr Chiume has given the most contradictory arguments in this article. I respect your for your pieces here but this one is confusing. On the argument of “seasonality” you argue that JB rose through the ranks and file therefore she is experienced yet you dont use the same argument for people like Ken Nsonda who himself has risen from grassroots to the extent that JB herself recognised him for his work. If its not seasonality, work ‘ethics’, and capacity then on what basis did the EXPERIENCED JB nominate Ken as Secretary general. In the article you also argue that the… Read more »

O……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….O Do we need any more evidence to see that JB is a waste of everybody else’s time? Kodi inu . . . . . . Is it not JB who used to go about distributing abakha n stuff worth K20mn for instance, but used more than K35mn on logistics? . . . And what did she do when voice of reason tried to pump sense into her, on how her manners defied common sense, if not become more arrogant? Nkumati “Ine sindisiya kugawa abakha”? . . . Yes, anybody has the right to contest in an election; but it… Read more »

Leadership is about wisdom. You can have all the degree in the world, but if you have no wisdom, you can’t run that country. Wise words. Wina lamukanika dziko tche tche tche. Pano akusowa poti aligwire. Yet the lady was able to handle this very well.

Thom, to be honest, the parallels you are drawing here are also misreading. You are comparing people who were not head of states before and one who tested the seat. People already know what JB is like on the seat, and they did not like her presidency. Malawians are not stupid. What difference can JB bring now when we know already what she values as a president? I agree with Happy Kayumi that she is a spent force. Good bye JB. Time now to rest. Is it really that bad to retire and do stuff that you like?.
