Kabwila in road accident: Shocked!
Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Publicity Secretary, Jessie Kabwila on Friday survived a road accident that left her in shock.
National police have confirmed of the accident, which occurred near Dowa turn-off along Lilongwe-Kasungu road.
“There were no casualties. It occurred yesterday (Friday),” explained Rhoda Manjolo National police
spokesperson.
The outspoken Salima North-West Parliamentarian met her fate at Mtengo wa Nthenga near Dowa turn-off as she was coming from a funeral in Mabulabo, Mzimba.
Kabwila was hit by a vehicle owned by Anderson Engineering as she tried to avoid a truck that had suddenly stopped in the middle of the road.
The Anderson Engineering vehicle hit Kabwila’s vehicle from behind and she rammed into the big truck.
The big truck is said to have sped away in high speed leaving Kabwila’s vehicle and Anderson extensively damaged.
Two weeks ago another MCP executive official who is also the Speaker of Malawi National Assembly, Richard Msowoya was involved in an accident at Chisephere turn-off along the M1 road in Kasungu district.
Msowoya who escaped with bruises, killed a cyclist but was later cleared by police of any wrong doing.
Still this story begs the questions; it’s strange for a stopped truck, a thing that has several gears, just to speed off at a higher speed, was the truck pulling the trailer? If so, was the trailer empty? For those who know trucks it is hard to believe that it can just start speeding off at a higher speed from motionless, unless may be it is a new generation. Why is it that Malawian politics is associated with so many bad manners? If these acts of accidents are plots then it is shameful for our country.
