Mighty Wanderers on Sunday suffered an embarrassing 1-2 defeat to Karonga United in a TNM Super League match played at Mzuzu Stadium.
Karonga United came from behind to win the match, stunning the blues with a second half winning goal.
It the first time for the Karonga side to taste victory in the second round.
The visitors took a lead midway in the first half through Jacob Ngwira but seven minutes before the interval, Green Msowoya equalized for the host.
It was an important match to both sides, with Karonga fighting to escape relegation whilst Wanderers campaigning for a top five finish.
Despite the win, Karonga United are still in relegation zone on position 15 with 13 points from 21 games and the Nomads have now dropped to position number 12 with 21 points.
In another match Mafco frustrated title contenders Big Bullets to a 1-1 draw at Chitowe Stadium on Sunday.
Saidi Mtekama gave the host an early lead in the first minute of the match but Henry Kabichi levelled the score line before the recess.
It was a game of two halves, with Mafco dominating the first half while Bullets dominated the entire second half.
Mafco are stuck on position six while Bullets are second on the log, level on points with league leaders Moyale Barracks but lagging behind with goal difference.
