Countrymen, I for one do not support the idea of sending our soldiers to DRC. I fail to see the justification. Lets remember that DRC was peaceful for a long time until Westerners removed Mobutu Seseseko from office accusing him of dictatorship while the real reason was his ability to protect the rich mineral resource the country is blessed with. I have always suspected Westerners wanting to mine diamonds and gold out of the DRC are the ones who are fueling this war. They want Africans to fight so that they can dig up minerals. All these years what is Kabila doing as head of state for DRC. We can not be losing innocent soldiers just because DR Congo cant contain the bandits in their own country. I suggest the secretary general should go to the drawing board and redraft the military operation that would specifically from USA or Russia or France to combat deal with all these rebels. It looks these have got softscated weapons to defeat UN Peace keeping soldiers in DRC which the bend of the day we will be losing our soldiers who don’t have softscated weapons to contain the rebels… Read more »
