The said lawyer is not conversant with The Malawi Public Procurement Act in general and limitations on negotiations with the successful bidder by Section 34(9) of the Act specifically, otherwise he would not have mouthed that nonsense!

Doesnt this lawyer see there was an intent to defraud the government by Pioneer trough inflating of inflation interest rate? I suspect this reporter has been paid by Pioneer to twist the public opinion and perception

Did the lawyer in question really study law? Why hide his identity if he is really a lawyer worth his salt? I have a feeling everything written here is the writer’s own opinion.

Exactly. This is a paid propaganda piece. DPP is quite desperate, with trolls even in the comments section of this article. The thing is, APM has been caught red-handed with his fingers in the cookie jar and it’s impossible to spin this story in his favour.

Our lawyers are the most incompetent, unskilled and lack the tenacity of a typical professional lawyer. The same applies to our investigators, accountants and auditors despite being highly qualified. Financial crime especially no at laundering and racketeering has gotten too sophisticated for our Malawi professionals to pick up or trace let alone investigate successfully. These are professionals who have had no global experience and haven’t resolved any material case in their lives. That’s why these Malawi lawyerswould not be able to prosecute PI successfully.
