Mfumu ya luso, you don’t know what you are talking about. Companies make money, so they can afford to buy expensive cars. Do you know what city assemblies do?

I see nothing wrong with the plan by the council to buy the cars for the Mayor and his deputy. These people hold high offices and their benefits should befit the status of their offices. I wonder when people complain when companies are buying cars or paying for other benefits for their top employees. They deserve those benefits.

It’s the same, if it were you holding those positions, they would have bought you the vehicles.

Malawi woke up! No wonder we are the poorest country in the world. Poor mindset………..and jealousy.

Treasury and OPC please move quickly on this issue of appetite for expensive vehicles in Government and Parastatals. Imagine Government buys a Prado at K50million for the use of the PS or Director or whoever.the vehicle is used sparingly knowing that the beneficially will buy it at K 1million after three to five years. If thats not bad enough, soon before the vehicle is bought by the beneficially PS, it is sent for extensive service at the service garage at the cost of K1,500,000 which in essence means the vehicle has been offered for free. This is total madness to… Read more »

Lilongwe mayors are very useless and don’t even deserve such benefits. Nothing they have done since becoming mayors especially the mayor himself. Such an embarrassment and the mayor of Blantyre just makes them look like standard 2 children

Lilingwe City Chief Executive, hsi Finance director and their deputies are buying the mayor and some deputies to cover up for their mismanagement and corruption. Luxuries at a time when the city and the whole nation is in financial turmoil? When the infrastructure and sanitation in LL is that of 1940? Where is the Min. of Local Government? Where is the president? Lilongwe City is full of retarding and disgusting headlines. Get rid of the so called influential and big headed guys at the city office for the good of Lilongwe.
