Ma Blacks end UK tour, cancels Ireland show

Malawi music heavyweights, The Black Missionaries, on Saturday night had a final show of their UK tour at Luton and the band has since returned home cancelling a scheduled Ireland show on July 25.

“It has been a successful tour. We have had fantastic shows and we are happy that people enjoyed our performances,” band leader Anjiru Fumulani told Nyasa Times.

Organisers of their UK tour, Grace Ntolera Mujugu and Norah Chiwaula McLintock said Ma Blacks left UK through London-Heathrow on Sunday for Malawi.

Asked about their much touted show in Dublin next Saturday, Mujugu said they organised shows for England and Scotland, saying other promoters were handling Ireland show.

Fumulani also doubted if Ma Blacks will travel to Ireland for the show.

Since their arrival in UK in June, Ma Blacks have performed in Birmingham and Manchester in England. They also performed in Glasgow, Scotland.
