Mabedi named as new Aces assistant coach
Malawian coach Patrick Mabedi formerly coach of relegated South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Moroka Swallows has been named head coach Muhsin Ertugral’s assistant coach at Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Mabedi is short-listed to attend Confederation of African Football (CAF) A Licence hosted by Football Association of Malawi (FAM) later this month in Blantyre, said he was sad Swallows were relegated but said “it is time to move on.”
The former Flames captain who has joined the club that has Malawian player Limbikani Mzava said: “It is always good to grow and face new challenges in life.”
Mabedi holds a German Football Federation coaching certificate and served as Flames’ assistant coach. His German B licence is equivalent to Uefa B Licence.
