If MACRA is to earn credibility from Malawians and not to be regarded as a political tool for cramping down media houses perceived to be pro-opposition it has to treat all TVs, Radios and Newspapers equally. I wonder if TV and radio excludes state controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). Each time the president has a function to attend, MBC programming schedule is changed. We are treated to boring live broadcasts, then rebroadcasts in the evening and the following day. Yet I have never heard Macra summoning MBC to explain the change. That is poor timing.Een if the tax issue is true,everything has turn out to political issue due the timing and hondling of issue..When did MRA realise that TIMES has such huge taxes arreats?.That tippical characteristic problem of political and tribal appointees in such crucial institutions.

Wether tax issue or no tax issue, wether program change or no program change but whatever is done against Times group is politically driven. It is therefore so bad for a wise Malawian to back up these actions by the mra and macra as it is clear that they are pushed by the government. Truth is truth and needs no proof.
