The situation can be alleviated if permission is given to private traders to import from neighboring countries
Believe me it worked in Kenya and Tanzania even prices went down considerably

Some eat “madeya”bcoz de maize price has gone far,vendors r selling@ k1500 per basin,dey r raise de price depending on demand of de maize.Many Pipo wl suffer frm hunger related diseases hence more drugs r needed in public hospitals.

In Kasungu the situation is worse. I went there at 10:00 am but was told that the maize for that day has been finished. ADMARC and minister of Agriculture please be serious.
