It is unfortunate that every year a new budget is presented and debated before the previous budget is critically evaluated to assess failures and successes. This is a normal procedure in any financial management system and why our MPs, Ministers and others have all along ignored baffles me. Truly a country’s national budget must encompass a lot of things such as socio- economic development, job creation, agricultural and industrial productivity etc in the short, medium and long term. Our MPs need to revist their approach when it comes to dealing with the national budget.
