Malawi champions BB to hire CEO, Lipipa back at treasurer

Big Bullets FC will restructure the set-up of the club and hire a chief executive officer to run day to day management of the club in a bid to transform the country’s big soccer house into a commercial drive, new boss Sam Chilunga has said.

Chilunga, who was co-opted onto the club’s hot seat this week, replacing Kondi Msungama.

Some of changes include Noel Lipipa who resigned as a treasurer has been co-opted on the same position, first vice general secretary Titha Mandiza has been elevated to general secretary while TV journalist Kelvin Moyo is the new vice general secretary.

Other changes has seen Sadik Malinga, who was acting as chairperson following the resignation of Msungama has reverted to his old position of first vice chairperson while Lilongwe based Austin Kasito remains the second vice chairperson. Alex Gondwe is the vice treasurer.

A letter from the club’s main supporters committee chairperson Stone Mwamadi, dated 21 May,2015 addressing to Super League of Malawi, states that the club has made amendments to its main executive committee by co-opting and elevating some members.

The new Bullets chair said there is need to “rebrand” the Peoples Team and do things “in an ethical and professional way.”

He also called for restoration of sanity at the clubs and improve players’ welfare and reward supporters with good results.

Chilunga, a chartered accountant and banker, said Bullets will hire a CEO who has already been identified, review the constitution, set up a code of ethics that will be signed by all members in the executive and main supporters committee members.

The new boss said Bullets is “poor by choice” as it is the biggest brand in local football, observing that the brand has been misused for a long time.

Yes, Mr. Chilunga. We need sanity at BBs’ house. Most of the so called supporters are “Noise Supporters”. Can you imagine they play and win the Games and yet their allowances are not paid to them! Mr. Chilunga we need… Read more »

The problem in the Bullets set up are the so called supporters
Unless they learn not to interfere with the running of the club the hiring of the CEO won’t change anything.
