The sentence is very lenient contrary to the state request. It fairly reflects the fact that, canabis is not a rare commodity in Malawi. That weight of weed cannot have a market value of K60,000. There is need to re-think the chamba issue because, as of now, it is a few advantaged folks that economically benefits from it. The law unfairly grants benefits to defaulters – who happen to be the leadership and enforcers. Someone tell me where all this impounded canabis goes.
