If political parties/leaders don’t get punished the result is a messed up country called Malawi. Why are leaders who have miserably failed Rewarded with a Second Term?If leaders know that there wont be another term for a failure they will give their best.Thats why we need 50 +1 .

For those who have been exposed to the real world would know that in Japan 9which is one of the progressive countries in the world), when a corporate scandal happens, the entire executive appear before national media and they apologies. They kneel on the floor, bow and apologise; thereafter they resign. Public outcry, even if its based on perceptions, is taken seriously. Public officers conduct themselves to highest ideals of the land which are rooted in serving others ethically, morally and selflessly. Public outcry regarding Honourable Gondwe’s action should indeed warrant his resignation as his behaviour has been called into… Read more »

Leave Gondwe alone. audio discussions in parliament by all MPs on call for distribution of funds to 193 constituencies ( not MPs) which summed up to K4 billion are available. then what is your problem. the problem with you is that you pick good facts ( and crossbred good facts -vs- your evil altitude) and blend them with politics/jelousy/sadness/envy/kaduka etc to breed what you errorneosly call transparency and accountability. You people have wrong translation of terms ” transparency & accountability” when you are in the political field than when you are in the professional field. In other words you put… Read more »

As long as the funds benefit Malawians and not embezzled, I am with Goodall. Whats wrong with this funds allocation? Much ado about nothing.

Koma a mfumu ndiye mukuganiza mopelewera. The problem is that the funds aren’t going to be used for rural projects but rather and up in a few individuals pockets, for personal use. That’s the issue amfumu. Funds raised from taxpayers should benefit taxpayers and not a few politicians.

If you carry out due diligence of dpp finance and resources you will find gondwe at the forefront. All violence in the north special one is Gonapamuhanya, it was gondwe funding thugs. All campaign money’s for all six by-elections it was gondwe and the list is endless. The sad story is that he has a house in Washington DC where he will run after dpp fails to get back in power. This is same with peter. So the best is to remove this govt before they clipple Malawi.

Chkulamayembe is Gondwe, and Minister Gondwe is directly related to Chikulamayembe. So what you are saying is rubbish.

It does not follow that if people are related then they will not stone each other .Jappie and Enock Chihana are related. Let’s admit some political parties value violence.

Are Malawians that stupid? Do you really believe Gondwe woke up one morning and decided I will give 4 billion to 89 MPs.

What idiots are Malawians, this was a cabinet decision, and it was put in the budget because that is where it is supposed to be.

It does not matter who minister was that 4 billion would have been there.

And to say this 4 billion was there because the minister of finance is corrupt is ridiculous and stupidity of the highest order.

Besides how many ministers have resigned in Malawi since independence?

What morons.

The minister of finance is the custodian of K1.3 trillion of funds raised from taxes etc. His job is to ensure that those scarce funds are spent wisely and effectively, with minimum wastage. The minister of finance should ideally be the voice of reason especially when MP’s are pushing an agenda that only benefits them. He is our last line of defence. This is why it is critical to appoint a person with unquestinable integrity in the position (finance). What the public is saying Baba is that maybe the president got it wrong in appointing a weak finance minister; a… Read more »
