The reason for Average prices globally being higher is more to do with fuel quality.
The fuel quality in Malawi is no where near the global standards of fuel quality.
For e.g some filling stations claim to have 50ppm fuel but unfortunately they don’t.
How do we know this is because our LTR /100 KM is the same from previous years in the same car though it is claimed that we have 50 Parts Per Million diesel now.

Don’t understand the merit of this article. Is it about justifying fuel increase? If so, why don’t you use the same argument for pay rise so that Malawians will be at par with the countries mentioned in the article.

and Malawi is the poorest on the list of countries compared t ohere,that is why it is nosense to bring such crazy comparisons, when on average the poorest people on the said countries live in Malawi

Those countries you are talking about, their GBPD can not compare with ours here in Malawi! This is where these comparisons do not work and make no sense. More than 90% of our people live on less that a dollar per day. Go to the villages and see what is happening there. Tisayankhulitsane pambali. Iwe umalandira mwezi ndi mwezi koma agago ako akusowa yasopo, mchere, shuga kumudzi.
