Assu was one of the new players at the Lali Lubani Road and has become a darling to many fans since he joined the team three weeks ago.

Wanderers team manager Steve Madeira confirmed that they would offer the player a contract within the week as one of new players to be signed this ahead of the forthcoming season kick off.

“We are signing him this week,” Madeira said without divulging more details regarding the deal.

The player’s agent Prince Jere also confirmed of the development.

“It’s a done deal. They want the player and we have finalized negotiations,” Jere said.

He said Atsu has managed to impress as he had indicated earlier that the Cameroon is a good player.

“I am not surprised because as I told you Assu has proved that he is a top class player,” he said. He also disclosed that there were other Super League clubs interested in the players but Wanderers acted fast,” he said.

Assu was featured in the game against Silver Strikers in which his foul triggered the violence at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre during the official launch of Be Forward Wanderers. Assu also scored in Wanderers 3-1 win over promoted Surestream FC at Kamuzu Stadium.

Jimmy Zakazaka another new player scored a brace to sink the Super Laegue rookies.
