This is a good program to give fresh graduates the much-needed job experience. It should be extended to the private sector, i.e. private companies and parastatals should be encouraged to take up these interns and government will pay the allowances. Internship is not a job per se but a way to give these youths exposure away from the theoretical classroom environment. If you google On the Job Trainee (OJT), you’ll find similar programs in many countries and my only surprise is that Malawi didn’t have this all along. The only way to create permanent employment to the youth is to reduce the retiring age of civil servants probably to 55 instead of 60 years.

Campaign tool. I wish elections were coming every year to make government always think for its people. Seriously, this use of public funds for Campaign must stop. Unfortunayely even our parliament if full of corrupted bastards. I cry for mother Malawi.

DPP revealed this plan to employ the youth before Chilima founded UTM. It is Chilima who is trying to steal and modify DPP polices.
