HYPOCRISY at it’s BEST! Is the writer sure DD Phiri’s “prolific literary output has directed the development” of Malawi? I doubt, like most hardworking and patriotic Malawians his voice was just WILD, never taken seriously by those in authority. I liked the endurance in him,preferred to walk to and from work hardly bothered with bus ride despite the advanced age. We modern day boys are jumping on minibus to shy away from a 4minute walk.REST IN PEACE gentle old man.

Nyasatimes learn to give more information to your readers please. How old was he . He wrote some of the books which were/are used in our school curriculum etc
88 years. One of his books was adopted for school curriculum in Botswana.
This article is too too short to describe DD Phiri. A number of details have been left out. For example, at what age has he died? What about his family? He also authored books on politics. One major title is Democracy with a Price. Apart from his private institution, Aggrey Memorial School, where else did he serve Malawi? What about his education and perhaps local achievements.
Either the author is still searching for the information or he is not familiar with such details.
Too short I do concur with you, say like where exactly was he raid to rest, which District and indeed Village, how many children is he survived by, let alone grand children, where was he staying in Blantyre, and which part of Naperi (old or new) was the vigil, so much to clarify here, Nyasatimes please just try to bring out what is well balanced, this is not the first time readers are complaining of lack of full information publications, so please just change for the better soon as you can.

Readers, he was still residing at his house in Nyambadwe, Blantyre. He died aged 88 years. He hailed from Emanyeleni Village in Traditional Authority Mthwalo in Mzimba District.
