If I didn’t know better, I would have proposed that every Malawian citizen local and abroad, from the tomato selling woman in the street to the CEO of the largest entity in Malawi contribute 50 percent of their total income towards purchasing of medical necessities, but I remember back in early 90’s, the South African government made a similar proposal where it collected R10.00 from every registered employee salary towards unemployment purse, If I am not mistaken, the total amount collected was over R30,000 000.00, but to date, only the devil knows where that money disappeared to.

Do patients have to suffer and most of them will die as we wait for next year to access food and drugs because of irresponsible few? Let us save lives and sort out the mess. Loss of human being can not be compromised by irresponsible few. Let the tax payers money be used to curtail the fate of patients and not wait for Donor money napapata

I still don’t understand the logic. Pulling out of donors paralyzes the government system. I suppose 60% of services were supposed to be provided? But its like less than 30% of services are being provided. Kuba kumtundako kukupitilira. Check the budget cuts to the districts, more than 70%.
