Facial recogniton software is not foolproof and must sometimes be bypassed. The state of the art registration software allows for this and if the NRB operator used this feature, the picture would have been captured. This information will be emphasized once again to the central support team.

Common sense should tell us that the problem is with the cameras or the operators, not the person whose picture is to be taken. Malawians are still leaving in the dark ages to associate the failure of the cameras with witchcraft. The reporter of the story confirms that his iPad captured the man’s photograph. It was not not a story worth reporting.
