Malawi ladies hunt for repeat con-woman, fled to South Africa

The social media site, Facebook is abuzz this week with Malawian women urging each other to assist in the tracking down of one ruthless con-woman, Temwa Lisa Utonga.

Temwa Utonga: On the run
Temwa Utonga: On the run

Utonga, whose appealing beauty disguises her bizarre behaviour, is believed to have conned her direct cousin in Blantyre named Wongie Kamanga to believe that she was is desperate search of her missing son and therefore needed some temporary accommodation.

Unknowingly to Kamanga, the said desperate cousin – Temwa Utonga – had just been temporarily detained and later released by the Police following an alleged theft of K250,000 and an I-Pad from her brother in-law a few days earlier.

Utonga, who has two young children, disappeared from the Samaritan cousin Kamanga’s house and it was then that the victim realized her foreign currencies: USD1,200 and a 70 British pounds sterling were missing from her bedroom.

“Temwa Utonga is my direct cousin but she needs to be brought to the public, I am in deep pain”, posted Wongie Kamanga in her Facebook post in a special group for Malawi women.

The ordeal has also brought other women to unravel the skeletons in the closet of Temwa Utonga.

One has revealed that she was on the run in South Africa following several episodes of conning other colleagues which led to the South African police to be on the lookout for her.

Multiple women who know the conwoman Utonga have posted her photos warning others not to fall victim to her tricky acts.

Sadly to Wongie Kamanga, it is believed the conwoman Utonga has returned to South Africa using a new passport and identity of another female cousin based in Malawi.

Can’t you read that she has changed a passport and therefore her name changes to the authorities as well? With the weak and corrupt South African police, she will continue to have a free ride. You only need 50 rands when you get into that SA Police van to free yourself. I have seen it so many times in Gauteng. But for this whore, she can use both the cash or her labia majora to get a free ride in Mzansi. But it will only take a revenge beating that might seat her ass down, not the police, but from… Read more »
