One of the country’s renowned music producers, Percy Manyozo, popularly known as Pro-Pee is in critical condition at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre after he was involved in a car accident Friday night.
Nyasa Times understands that the accident happened around 10pm near Winners Chapel in Chitawira, along the Blantyre-Soche-Limbe Road and the producer, who is co-founder of Transformers Music, lost a friend.
It is not yet known what happened and who the deceased is as Police in Blantyre were not able to provide details on the accident as Nyasa Times contacted them.
Southern Region Police publicist, Nicholas Gondwa said: “I don’t have details at the moment, but once I get to the office this afternoon I will call you back.”
But according to his partner Mike Chilewe Junior, who is Transformers Music co-director, the accident happened soon after the prominent producer had dropped a friend “Alex” at the said church.
“I’m just coming from seeing him, he is pain but he will be fine. I was able to talk to him he recognised me,” said Chilewe in an interview Saturday morning.
He further disclosed that Pro-Pee was in Ward 5A, adding “the girl that was in the car is also admitted”.
Pro-Pee has produced hits for the country’s top urban musicians among them Maskal, Young Kay, Piksy, Dan Lu, Armstrong and BarryOne, just to mention a few.
