Nyasatimes please do not write articles that serve no benefit to the public except for inciting hatred on religious grounds. In almost all the countries where there have been mass murders targeted versus religious/racial groupings, the media has played this very unfortunate role of inciting hatred. Please leave us Malawians in peace. We do not want to walk in the footsteps of those nations which are bleeding merely because of hatred rooted in religious differences.

I reserve my comments but the story bears the hallmark of a Malawian of foreign origin. There is no way an indigenous Malawian, however bitter, can write all those demeaning words(ARVs, Aids, condoms, early marriages, etc, etc)bout his own people and country. Mind you all these negative words affect both Christians and Moslems. So, what is the point? These are the foreigners who want Malawians to bend to their whims. Beware country Islamic folks. You are being used.

Wrong comparison: South Sudan is a young country about 5 or so years old. The reason South Sudan ceded from North is bcoz only North was prioritised for development

These slurs and counter slurs are unfortunate. My take is that the author wanted to spark debate on the subject. Lets avoid provoking each other because this is a sensitive issue. The bottom line remains that Malawi is a Christian nation whether one likes it or not and because of human right issues on freedom of worship we tolerate all other religion. That doesnt mean other religions should take advantage of that and make unnecessary demands to government. Interestingly, although Muhammad was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in 570 A.D., Saudi Arabia is one of the countries not to give… Read more »

if Malawi is a pagan nation, why should we condon Islamic laws or holidays then? if that proposed so called public holiday is pagan or sexual in nature then we should accept it since that’s how Malawi is.

Islam is the religion that came with slave trade remember Jumbe and Mlozi. If if dont convert to Islam you became a slave is that a religion to boost about. Thats why your are mostly found in Mangochi, Salima and Nkhotakota. Pola pola popemphera you lack Holy Spirit. Terrorists at work kkkkkk. You came early to champion slavery….
