Msosa was speaking in Lilongwe during the 2015 National Symposium for Scottish Government Malawi Grant Partners.

The Scottish Government has invested more than  £37 million over the last decade in more than 100 projects to improve the lives of the people in Malawi, International Development Minister Humza Yousaf announced recently.

Yousaf announced the additional package of over £9 million to fund 20 life changing projects through the Malawi Development Programme over the next three years.

Msosa urged officers to use the funds for the intended purpose.

Malawi Scotland Partnership (MASP) board chair Dr Matthews Mtumbuka commended the Scottish Government for the support to Malawi.

“I don’t want even to hear that the money has been mismanaged,” said Mtumbuka.

In a video linked message to the meeting Yousaf said “Over the last ten years through the Malawi Development Programme , Scotland has made a real and lasting difference to the lives of many of our friends in Malawi. Our contribution has helped to deliver more than 100 projects that have among other things supported midwives to safely deliver babies,  improved children’s access to vital education, increased sustainable energy and helped people to find work to support their families out of poverty.”.

During the symposium MASP  national coordinator Happy Makala gave a project overview on the partnership.

Are you sure #11? Perhaps it’s the other way round: we are selfish, greedy and corrupt because we are poor and backward.

Americans and Europeans are also selfish, greedy and corrupt. Why are they neither so poor nor so backward?

Look closely and causal relationships blur.
