“You have taken enough lives of my people. You have taken away the peace of the people with albinism. Now you will face the law. Your time is up, we are now at war,” said the President. – the statement tells alot, it seems there was a deal between the president and some people now there time is up, no wonder the president is reacting verbally now, Lord have mercy!

My friend Analyst, need for no special law and need to strengthen the existing law are different, I hope? How do you analyse this?

O……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..O A very correct observation. . . . but paragraph 5 of the artical clearly states appointment of a special prosecutor on cases with people with albinism – if the govt realises the need for a special prosecutor, why is it hard to realise that these are abnormal times that require something albino-specific including a law? . . . and if you look at paragraph 4 of this article, there are all indications that this yet-to-be-tabled bill is specifically for albinos; outside the existing laws; implying a special kind of law, yet all along the authorities had played deaf to… Read more »

Too little too late! After the massacres and maimings of albinos in Tanzania, all African leaders should have pondered how to prevent the murderous trend from taking root on their soils. The Malawi Defence Force adds value by protecting us from being attacked but the President does not seem to embrace the value brought by MDF: just check how every citizen is living in fear of being robbed, murdered, private parts or female breasts severed, and so on. Is there a foreign induced subversive element in Malawi, designed to derail the citizens morale and trust in whatever is left as… Read more »

What will the new law do that cant be done now? The current laws are adequate the problem is to track down and deal with the sponsors of this evil. We can introduce a million tough laws but as long as our mindset remains the same there will be no improvement in the protection of people with alibinism. In USA there are strong laws protecting LGBTs but 49 were gunned down. Laws that require compliance are not a detterence. What in the name of Allah is Dausi doing? The police can effectively deal with this vice if we had a… Read more »

O…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….O Ohoo, Tembenu will soon table a bill aimed at strengthening our laws? . . . did it had to take a whole century for APM to realise that our laws need to be strenghthenedt? . . . How many times have voice of reason tried to ask you to do this? . . . Koma azichita kukuposani bongololo ndi namzikambe kuchita zinthu mwachangu zoona? ………………………………………………………………………………………. And not so long ago, Parliament was meeting, why did this Tembenu thing not table the bill then? . . . Can anyone help me understand why this APM is this slow and casual… Read more »
