Malawi ref Kwimbira to officiate in Portugal

Malawi’s top female assistant referee Bernadettar Kwimbira is expected to fly out to Portugal to officiate at the 22nd edition of the 2015 Algarve Cup scheduled for March 4–11, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has announced.

The Algrave Cup is an invitational women football tournament held annually in the Algarve region in Portugal. A total of 12 countries from four confederations are expected to take part in this year’s event. These include Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, USA, Japan, Sweden and the host nation Portugal.

Apart from officiating at the Algarve tournament, which is one of the most prestigious and longest-running international women football events, Kwimbira is also expected to officiate at the 2015 Fifa Women
World Cup in Canada in June this year.

National Referees Committee (NRC) chairman Cris Kapanga described the inclusion of Kwimbira at the tournament as a sign that Malawi was making strides in officiation.

“This is a clear indication that efforts by our local match officials in black and white are being recognized globally and as an association we feel proud. This is an encouragement to upcoming and aspiring women referees,” said Kapanga

@ captain Romeo, you are right! Nyasatimes is consists of the mbwenu mbwenu. When it is a simple story concerning one of their kinsmen, nyasatimes makes all sorts of noise for the world to see and hear. But if it concerns other tribes, more especially if its good news, it just covers with few lines or not covering at all. Somebody somewhere is studying your weakness & will one day be your competitor. So be careful!!! Tikukuonanitu a nyasa!!

Kodi ameneyu ndi mtundu wanji wa anthu? Next time, tell us more about her back ground/personality, how she was picked, if there was some sort of interviews and all that made her qualify. Don’t just rush into posting incomplete stories here. Ife timakhala ndi mafuso ambiri than you can imagine. Or was there an audition like the big brother system of picking up dogs to represent their wards?

Ameneyu ndi mbwenumbwenu (mtumbuka). She is married to one policeman , Nzika, and they have omitted the husbands’ name deliberately so that the mbwenumbwenu name is put on spotlight, you know what nyasatimes is consist of

Congrats madam Kwimbira! Wishing you all the best as start your sojourn up there!!! By the way, is 7 days (march 4-11), longest running time in this tournament? So how long does the normal or the shortest running tournament take? Just a question, eti abale? Paja amati,” kuva mkuvetsa fisi adabwerera ku malonda”. Or have I not picked nicely the pieces being put up forward here? This is according to the 3rd paragraph which is referring the 1st paragraph.
