Eish i hope you know what you are doing. first it was free secondary education and now this? Do you think some of those poorest district councils will keep up with this? Look i applaud some of government initiatives but this, i see problems. I remember how free education in muluzi’s administration fucked up the education system and up to now we are struggling to recover. I just fucking hope you know what you are doing?

You are talking. Just have a look at Limbe Market ….Blantyre Market … very dirty, stinking, some or most merchandise displayed on the ground just outside the markets .. Zomba Market .. very crowded. Not as spacious as it used to. No plans to expand them to accommodate all vendors. Yet these were the same markets that were very clean, very spacious with adequate space for buyers to move around during Kamuzu era.

Oh no! Secondary Schools to be under the management of District Councils? Really. Why is the Ministry of Education running away from its responsibilities? Controlling officers in District Councils are unconcerned when it comes to controlling finances. Decentralisation has provided an arena for corrupt practices to sprout to unprecedented levels. Look at services they provide to urban dwellers. It is not up to required standards. That some have pushed management of secondary schools to local authorities is very disappointing.
