Malawi to sell maize to Kenya, Tanzania— Admarc
State produce trader Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc) is considering selling some of its maize stock to Kenya and Tanzania.
Admarc board chairperson James Masumbu confirmed that the two East African countries reportedly inquired if they could sale them maize to them as they face shortage of the grain.
Masumbu said Admarc referred Kenya and Tanzania to Capital Hill for a discussion at government level on the deal.
He said the decision to sell the maize will be made month-end of April after harvesting.
According to Masumbu, Admarc has 100 000 metric tonnes of maize in stock.
He said they would need to sell the maize to pay back the loans they got.

The government should not sell the maize to the mentioned countries. the Admarc company should find other means of paying the loans it is having. Please sell that maize to poor malawians especially those who cannot even manage to buy subsidised farm inputs. Once again do not sell the maize because of the reason stipulated in this passage. Why is it that the government was unable to give aid to the families in remote areas who were greatly faced by hunger?

Fellow Malawians, read between lines. Someone is initiating this deal behind scene to conceal maizegate. When did Malawi get the 100,000 metric tonnes surplus? They want to hide something or I should say drop maizegate case.

A Malawi kumazitsata zinthuzi this is very nice move two thumbs up to the government.
