Malawi squad to face Tanzania released: 3 new faces roped in

Flames Technical panel through the local soccer governing body Football Association of Malawi (FAM) have announced names of players expected to travel to Tanzania this weekend to face the Taifa Stars in a friendly encounter.

The squad comprises of seven foreign based players and eleven locally based players.

The list of local players include three new faces who have made it in the debut call up. They are Chikoti Chirwa, Amos Khamula of Support Battalion and Earnest Tambe of Surestream Academy.

According to FAM, the 25 member Malawi National Team delegation will depart Thursday 26th March 2015 from Chileka Airport at 12:00 noon and will arrive in Dar-es-Salaam at 20:00 hours in the evening.

The team will then fly to Mwanza City where the match will be played on 29th March 2015 at CCM Kirumba Stadium and the match will kick off at 15:00 hours Malawi time.

The team is expected back home on Monday 30th March 2015.

Below is a list of the selected players.

Foreign based players: Joseph Kamwendo, Chimango Kayira, Frank Banda, Esau Kanyenda, Harry Nyirenda, Limbikani Mzava and Gerald Phiri.

Local based players: McDonald Harawa, Richard Chipuwa, Lucky Malata, John Lanjesi, Francis Mulimbika, John Banda, Earnest Tambe, Micium Mhone, Chikoti Chirwa, Peter Wadabwa and Amos Khamula.

Officials: Young Chimodzi-Head Coach, Jack Chamangwana-Assistant Coach, Franco Ndawa- Team Manager, Philip Nyasulu-Goalkeepers Trainer, Levison Mwale-Team Doctor, James Sangala-Teams’ Liaison Officer and Alexander Waya-Head of Delegation (Executive Committee)
