Malawi star Atusaye scores fifth goal in South Africa top league

Malawi international striker Atusaye Nyondo scored his fifth goal in South Africa’s top league side University of Pretoria to lead the team to a 2-1 triumph over Chippa United.

Nyondo scored in the 30th minute capitalising on a goalkeeping blunder by Mbongeni Mzinda who failed to deal with Thabo Mosadi’s efforts.

The Malawian was left with a simple tap in to register his fifth league goal of the season.

Nyondo’s twin striker Zimbabwean Denver Mukambe struck the winner in the 55th minute after Chippa United equalised in the 39th minute.

The goal has taken him to bandwagon on the 16th position of the top goal scorers.

Puleng Tlolane of Polokwane Stars in the current top goal scorer with Free State Stars Moeketsi Sekola with eight goals.

The win has lifted University of Pretoria to fourth place up from eight on the 16-team log table.

They have extended their unbeaten run to five matches having collected 22 points from 18 games.
