Malawi TNM Super League 2nd round roars into life: Sponsor takes hype to Mzuzu

All roads lead to Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday when the second round of TNM Super League roars back into life, with the sponsor looking forward to a competitive and exciting finale to a grand 2016 season.

Launched in April under the theme Its Great to Play, Cheer and Win, the 2016 season of the elite football competition in the country has seen the teams participating increased from 15 to 16.

TNM’s Senior Manager for Business Services, Limbani Nsapato said all is set to launch the second round of 2016 league with activities to spice up the event at Mzuzu stadium on Saturday.

“After successful completion of the first round, we shall be celebrating the game of football with the fans in Mzuzu and surrounding areas as the second round of the league rolls into life,” said Nsapato.

Nsapato said TNM is happy with the higher level of competition that all the teams have shown during the first round as demonstrated by the close race on points on the log table.

“TNM is satisfied with the high level of competition that all the teams showcased during the first round as demonstrated by the log table and we are expecting to stiffer race as the season goes closer to an end,” he said.

He appealed to  teams, supporters and all football stakeholders to ensure  a violence-free second round.

“The first round went on very well; we have seen improvements in standards of the game. It is our expectation that as we draw closer identifying the champion, the level of competition shall get tighter and the games will become even more exciting as such we expect supporters to equally exercise high levels of discipline,” said the Senior Business Services Manager

To mark the launch of the 2016 league second round, the country’s leading ICT company has lined up a number of activities aimed at creating fun and entertainment in Mzuzu.

Among the activities, there will be music performances by northern region based giants, Lusubilo Band, Honara dance performance and long bicycle and car stunts before the kick off of the game between Mzuni FC and league leaders Blue Eagles FC.
